Lectotype. FMNH, sex? [‘‘Olivos. C. A. 24.III. 930, C.B.’’ / ‘‘q.’’ / ‘‘argentinien don­Typus ch.’’ / ‘‘ densissimus Brnh. Typ. ’’ / ‘‘ densissimus Bernh. Typus, Tinotus Bruch’’ (yellow) / ‘‘Chicago NHMus, M. Bernhauer Collection’’ / ‘‘LECTOTYPE, Tinotus densissimus Bernhauer, desig. R. S. Hanley 2000’’ (red)] (here designated). Lectotype designation is justified under article 74.1.1 of the ICZN (1999) in order to fix the status of this specimen as the sole name­bearing type of this species.
