Allocapnia frisoni Ross and Ricker

is distributed west of the Allegheny Front from New York south to Tennessee and west to Wisconsin. In Pennsylvania it is most commonly collected in the Youghiogheny River drainage and in Lake Erie tributaries (Masteller 1996) where it often replaces the similar A. granulata .
