Lathrolestes kasparyani sp. nov.

Diagnosis. This species differs from the closely related L. pleuralis by more coarsely punctate face, and cavity of ovipositor approximately at the middle of ovipositor.

Description: Female. Body length 5 mm. Antenna with 25 flagellomeres. Scape 0.53 × as lomg as wide. Head not narrowed behind eyes, matt. Maximum length of temple 0.78 × transverse eye diameter; minimum length of temple 0.41 × transverse eye diameter. Face as wide as height of eye; in dorsolateral profile convex, medially bulging (Fig. 14). Clypeus separated by transverse groove; at apex projecting anteriorly; apical margin of clypeus obtuse, setose. Tentorial fossa large and elongate. Malar space 0.23 × basal mandible width. Occipital carina medially incomplete. Lower mandible tooth longer than upper.

Notaulus distinct at base. Low part of meseopleuron with distinct sparse punctures, shining. Claws pectinate. Fore wing with brown stigma. Areolet not petiolate. Second recurrent vein with single bulla. Hind wing with nervellus intercepted below middle. Nervulus slightly postfurcal. Propodeal carinae absent (Fig. 15).

Metasoma shining, with punctures, setose. First metasomal tergite 0.5 × as long as apically wide, with shallow median longitudinal impression; bordered by lateral longitudinal carinae, dorsal longitudinal carinae defined at basal half. Second metasomal tergite transverse.

Color. Female. Body black (Fig. 16); partly mandibles, base of antenna, tegulae, legs (except brown coxae, hind femur apex of tibiae and tarsi) yellow. Male unknown.

Material: Holotype, female, Russia, Amur Reg., Novorossiyka na Selemdge, 23.vii.1966, Kasparyan, (ZIN).

Distribution: Far East of Russia.

Etymology: The species is named in honor of Dmitry Kasparyan in recognition of his studies of Ichneumonidae .
