Xantholinus manisaensis sp. n.
Type Material: Holotype, TÜRKİYE: 1³, Manisa province, Sarıgöl county, between Kahramanlar-Yeniköy, mountain road, 38°16'46"N, 28°46'48"E, 613 m, 30.VI.2019, under stones, Leg. S. Özdemir.
Description: Habitus as in Fig. 5a. Colouration: Body blackish-brown; 8,8 mm (from the apex of labrum to the end of fully stretched abdomen); head and pronotum black, elytra yellowish-brown, abdomen blackish-brown, legs yellowish-brown, first three antennal segments reddish, rest of the segments are dark brown, palpi light brown.
Head rectangular shaped with round posterior corners, distinctly longer than width; eyes small and not distinctly projecting from lateral outline of head, temples slightly convex; punctation sparse; microsculpture not present (Fig. 5b).
Pronotum almost equal in width with head, slightly narrowing posteriad; pronotum with dorsal series of 9-10 punctures; microsculpture not present.
Elytra slightly longer than and almost equal in width with pronotum; punctation homogeneous and sparse, interstices much wider than diameter of punctures; hind wings present.
Abdomen slightly narrower than elytra; punctation weak defined and more sparser than elytra; tergites with weak transverse microsculpture; posterior margin of tergite VII with palisade fringe.
Male: lateral tergal sclerites triangular shaped, inner margin slightly concave, semi-acute apically (Fig. 5c); sternite IX asymmetric trapezoidal shaped, proximally slightly swollen, narrowing posteriad, slightly concave at apex (Fig. 5d); tergite X reverse heart-shaped, acute basally, distinctly widened through distal, almost parallel sided trapezoid shaped through apical, slightly concave at apex (Fig. 5d).
Aedeagus in dorsal view, with oval bulbus (Fig. 6a); introversion plate slightly oval shaped (Figs. 6a,b); parameres completely reduced; inner sac with two rows of spines on medial region, short row with 6 long triangular shaped middle length distal spines, long row with smaller spines (Figs. 6c, 7e), with a cluster of long finger shaped proximal spines (Fig. 7f). Aedeagus in lateral view, with oval bulbus (Fig. 6d); introversion plate half oval shaped, inner margin sinuous (Fig. 6d); parameres completely reduced; inner sac with two rows of spines on medial region, short row with long triangular shaped middle length distal spines, apical one apically curved (Figs. 7a,d), on the back with a single middle length distal spine (Fig. 7c), long row “?” shaped with smaller spines, with a heap of short proximal spines (Figs. 7a,c).
Etymology: The species is named for the location of the holotype, Manisa province.
Distribution: The species is known only from the type locality, Manisa-Sarıgöl.
Discussion: Xantholinus (C.) manisaensis sp. n. is distinguished from its congeners by different combination of the internal structures of the aedeagus. On medial region of the internal sac, there is a short row of 6 medium length, elongate triangular-shaped distal spines and a long row of numerous shorter spines extending through distal pore. Additionally there is a cluster of long, finger-shaped proximal spines. In lateral view, the question mark-shaped (?) longer row unites with proximal spines. With this pattern of spines, the new species mostly resembles X. (C.) bayrami Anlaş, 2014, which has 8 easily seen, very long, large and straight distal spines on the middle region (Fig. 6e, 7b). In addition to the aedeagus being smaller, the new species can be distinguished from X. (C.) bayrami, by having fewer distal spines in the first row, of which the apical one is slightly curved apically, and the second row with smaller and more densely arranged spines. Also, the new species has a single medium length distal spine on the back, which is different from X. (C.) bayrami .
