Diagnosis. Disc scaled dorsally and ventrally. Oral shield variable, but about as wide as long. Five sharp pointed arm spines, reducing to 4 then 3 spines distally. Two tentacle scales throughout arm, though sometimes 1 on proximal pores. Reddish-pink tinge to plates.

Distribution. New Zealand (0–252 m).
