10.1. Pyrostegia venusta (Ker Gawler 1817: pl. 249) Miers (1863: 188) (Fig. 8 d).

Diagnosis:— Pyrostegia venusta can be recognized by the bright orange corollas, stamens and stigmas exserted.

Reproductive Period:— Flowers were collected in May, June, July, August, and September. no fruiting data.

Distribution and Habitat:— It occurs throughout the Neotropic (Lohmann & Taylor 2014). Within the study area, it was registered in Céu Azul, Matelândia/Serranópolis, Capanema (E.J.H.J. pers. obs.), Foz do Iguaçu, and in the PARNA Iguazú, one of the most abundant species on the ParNa Iguaçu.
