Diagnosis. Australian species of the tribe Macrotomini can be separated from all other Australian Prioninae by the following characters: eyes shallowly or not emarginate near antennal insertions (Fig. 13M); mesocoxal cavities open to mesanepisternum and mesepimeron (Fig. 4D); mesotrochantin obviously exposed (Fig. 4D); metanepisternum broad; metepimeron narrow; pronotum with lateral carina dentate.
