Holotype male in AMNH (not seen).

Diagnosis. Postsutural dorsocentrals 3; mid femur with 2 preapical setae; mid tibia with 2 posterior setae and without anterodorsal seta; costal spine absent; scutum with an “ Anthomyia -pattern”; dark spots on second and third abdominal tergites subtriangular and large, reaching the anterior margins.

Notes. This runs to couplet 34 and to L. simulans in Emden’s (1951) key. It differs by the setulose vein R1, shorter haired arista, longer postpedicel, and less projecting mouth-margin.
