Holotype in NMSA (not seen).
Diagnosis. Arista plumose; dorsocentrals 2+3; fore tibia without a posterior seta; mid femur with 2 preapical setae; mid tibia with 2 posterior setae; lower katepisternal seta closer to the posterior one than to the anterior one; calypters brownish, haltere yellow; wing vein R4+5 with two setulae at base on ventral and dorsal surfaces.
Notes. According to Zielke (1971b), this species runs to L. notabilis (now L. quaterna) in Emden’s (1951) key, but can be easily distinguished by the short setulae on the dorsal surface of vein R1.
