Cataglyphis adenensis is widely distributed in the Arabian peninsula. Cataglyphis adenensis var. bugnioni SANTSCHI, 1929 (BOLTON 1995: 134) is an unavailable name, because the term "var." is an infrasubspecific entity in SANTSCHI (1929: p. 25 (V. Liste des espèces, races, et varietés), p. 40 ( Cataglyphis albicans st. livida var. arenaria or C. albicans st. livida ambigua nov.var. ")). The status of Cataglyphis adenensis var. bugnioni should be checked, because Cataglyphis adenensis is not listed in FISHER & BOLTON (2016: 239).
