Distribution. Great Britain, Central and South Europe, Scandinavia, Latvia, Moldavia, Ukraine, South European Russia, North Africa, Israel, Lebanon, Asian Turkey, Iran, introduced to Japan and Neotropical Region (Knížek 2011b, as H. toranio D’Anthoine, 1788; Alonso-Zarazaga et al. 2017, 2023); reported by Nikitsky & Izhevsky (2005) from Caucasus and Trancaucasia without country data. Armenia: reported as H. oleiperda (Fabricius, 1792) by Mirzoian (1954) from Syunik Province (Tsav, Shgharjik), by Iablokoff-Khnzorian (1961) without distribution data, later by him (Iablokoff-Khnzorian 1976) from Syunik Province, and by Mirzoian (1977) also from North Armenia.
