Material examined. CHINA. 3 ♂, 2 ♀, altitude 2400 m, 24. V .2018, Le Village, Cuona County, Shannan District, Xizang Autonomous Region, P. R . China, leg. Tian-peng Chen (SCAU); 3 ♂, same locality and collector, but 23. V .2018 (SCAU). Additional material: 301 specimens of both sexes from NE India (Sikkim, north of West Bengal), C and E Nepal (NHMUK, MWM / ZSM) .
Diagnosis. Barsine mactans is similar externally to members of B. flammealis species-group and B. fangchenglaiae sp. nov., but can be distinguished from them by the combination of characters mentioned in the ‘Remarks’ chapter in the description of B. fangchenglaiae sp.nov.
