Material examined. Stn. T10, 15.ii.2007: a few sterile stems, epizoic on plumose bryozoan. Stn. T17, 06.iii.2005: a few sterile stems, epizoic on Plumularia setacea (Linnaeus, 1758) . Stn. T19, 07.iii.2005: a few sterile stems, epizoic on Sertularella gayi (Lamouroux, 1821) .
Distribution. Widely distributed over tropical and subtropical waters of the Pacific, Indian and Atlantic oceans, including the Mediterranean Sea (Peña Cantero & García Carrascosa 2002). This is the first record of this species for Tristan da Cunha.
