Pachyanthidium subgenus Trichanthidium Cockerell
Pachyanthidium (Trichanthidium) Cockerell, 1930: 52 . Type species: Pachyanthidium occipitale Cockerell, 1930 = Anthidium benguelense Vachal, 1903, monobasic.
Diagnosis. Distinguished from other subgenera by the eyes hairy, preoccipital carina laterally complete, reaching the hypostomal area, ocelli reduced in size, aroliae present in males, spines present on lateral margins of T3–T5, and ventral margin of mid femur carinate at least on basal portion. The complete preoccipital carina is unique in the genus. Trichanthidium has a disjunct distribution: Afrotropics and Asia from India to Yunnan Province , China.
