Material examined. Paratypes: 11♂ (cl 3.4– 1.9 mm), 23♀ (cl 3.2– 1.7 mm), 4♀ ov (cl 3.2– 2.9 mm), RMCA 54030, Nigeria, Edo State, swamp forest along Ogba River, 06°12'N 05°35'E, coll. C.B. Powell, 09.iv.1975 . Additional material: 24♂ (cl 3.5– 1.9 mm), 22♀ (cl 4.1– 2.2 mm), 5♀ ov (cl 4.1– 3.2 mm), USNM 171376, Nigeria, Rivers State, Port Harcout, Rumokoroshe, swamp forest stream, 04°51'00''N 07°03'42''E, coll. F. Ojarikre & C.B. Powell, 29.xii.1978 .

Type locality. Swamp forest near Ogba River, about 8 km southwest of Benin city , Edo State (Nigeria) .

Distribution. Nigeria (Edo State, Delta State, Rivers State) (Powell 1976; Victor & Ogbeibu 1985; Pereira 1997; Ogbeibu & Oribhabor 2002; Ikomi et al. 2005; Olomukoro 2009; Olomukoro & Dirisu 2014; present study) (Fig. 62B, yellow circles).

Description. Powell (1976: 895, figs. 5–7). The material from Rumokoroshe (Rivers State, Nigeria) is illustrated in Figs. 3–4.

Remarks. The material from Rivers State (USNM 171376), studied by Pereira (1997), represents the first record of E. edingtonae outside of Edo and Delta states where the species has been often reported (Fig. 62B, yellow circles). The specimens match well the description and illustrations in Powell (1976) (see also Figs. 3, 4). The genus Euryrhynchina was believed to be monotypic until recently when a second species was described (De Grave et al. 2017). For the morphological differences between the two species, see remarks under E. puteola .
