Gadus blennoides Brünnich, 1768: 24 . Type locality: Marseille, Mediterranean coast of France. Phycis blennoides, Goren & Galil, 1997: 199, 2002: 150 .

Distribution. Northeastern Atlantic, Mediterranean; depth range 10–1047 m. In the Levant collected at 1200 m (Goren & Galil, 1997).
