Genus Belostoma Latreille, 1807

Note. Belostoma anurum (Herrich-Schäffer, 1848), B. bergi (Montandon, 1899), B. boops (Dufour, 1863) (= B. asiaticum (Mayr, 1863)), B. ellipticum Latreille, 1833, and B. stollii (Amyot & Serville, 1843) have been reported from Chile, but either the identifications or the records themselves were incorrect (see Faúndez & Carvajal 2017a for more details).
