Material examined. 20 spec., China, Guangdong Province, Dinghu Mountain, 14. vi. 1963, Shaorong Chen leg.; 10 spec., same data, but Tongxu Peng leg.; 1 spec., same data, but 8.vii.1964, Entian Wu leg.; 13 spec., China, Guangdong Province, Dinghu Mountain, Feishui Pool, 18.vii.1964, Tongxu Peng leg. (all SYSU). All specimens bear identification label: Neptosternus coomani Peschet, det. Hong Zeng.

Distribution. Distributed in northern Vietnam and southern China (Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Hong Kong); a doubtful record from northern Thailand (Hendrich & Balke 1997).
