Amblyomma cordiferum Neumann, 1899

This species, which is relatively rare, is found in moist broadleaf forests in the Australasian and Oriental Regions (Petney and Keirans 1995; Guglielmone et al. 2014). It occurs on numerous reptile and mammal hosts (Audy et al. 1960). Within continental Southeast Asia, it has been reported from peninsular Malaysia (Audy et al. 1960) and Thailand (Anastos 1950). Parthenogenetic reproduction has also been reported (Ho and Ismail 1984).
