Triplocania mocoaensis n. sp.

(Figs 230–241)

Diagnosis. Central sclerite of hypandrium with well developed posterior projections, widely separated (Fig. 234); close to T. panchei n. sp., and T. camentsa n. sp., differing from them by the shape of the ends of the posterior projections, anterior area of sclerite and shape of phallosome sclerites; phallosome with mesal sclerite wide, transverse, H-shaped, with median pointed posterior process; anterior arms slender, pointed; posterior arms stout, distally denticulate (Fig. 235). IX sternum cup-shaped, with anterior border slightly emarginate (Fig. 241).

Male. Color (in 80% ethanol). Body pale brown. Compound eyes brown; ocelli hyaline, with ochre centripetal crescents. Head pale brown, front with two diagonal stripes dark brown arranged as two horizontal Vs, extending from the inner border of each compound eye to the ocellar group; one small brown spot below the ocelli, and two curved bands from the epistomal sulcus, directed anteriorly (Fig. 232); genae pale brown, with small bottom area cream. Antennae pale brown, flagellomeres darker than scape and pedicel. Maxillary palps pale brown, Mx4 distally darker. Thorax pale brown, with some areas of the tergal lobes of meso- and metathorax cream. Tibiae and tarsi brown, coxae and trochanters cream, coxae with ochre spot proximally, femora pale brown. Forewings hyaline, pterostigma more pigmented; a pale brown marginal band from R4+5 to Cu1a; distal part of cu2 pale brown (Fig. 230). Small brown spots on vein ends. Hindwings hyaline. Abdomen pale cream, with subcuticular pale brown ochre spots on tergites. Hypandrium pale brown; clunium, paraprocts and epiproct cream, with small pale brown subcuticular areas. Phallosome dark brown.

Outer cusp of lacinial tip broad, with five denticles. Mx4/Mx2: 1.16. Forewings (Fig. 230): L/W: 2.59, pterostigma: lp/wp: 5.36; areola postica high, la/ha: 2.24, distal part of Cu1a with gentle concavity. Hindwings (Fig. 231): l/w: 2.87. Hypandrium (Fig. 234); with abundant macrosetae mainly in the basal body. Phallosome V-shaped anteriorly, side struts slender; external parameres membranous, distally rounded, with outer border sclerotized, denticulate (Fig. 235). Anterior pair of endophallic sclerites M-shaped, inner arms robust, broadly triangular, with anterior border jagged, posteriorly wide, almost straight; outer arms semi-elliptic, with stout, pointed posterior process. Mesal sclerite as in diagnosis. Posterior pair with each arm broadly V-shaped, pointed anteriorly, with a row of teeth on inner border (Fig. 235). Paraprocts (Fig. 233), broad, with abundant medium and short setae in the posterior third; a macroseta near each sensory field; these with 25 trichobothria on basal rosettes. Epiproct wide, broadly triangular, with posterior border rounded (Fig. 233), setae as illustrated.
