Diagnosis: Ninth sternum of two areas, anterior oval, with a narrow concavity anteriorly in the middle, and concave posteriorly; posterior area narrower, with curved, longitudinal and transverse grooves (Fig. 358). Related to T. furcatoides n. sp.
Color (in 80% ethanol). Body, legs and wings as in the males (see New, 1972).
Pigmented area of subgenital plate as described for T. lamasi below (Fig. 357); IX sternum cream, gonapophyses brown; clunium brown; paraprocts and epiproct pale brown.
Morphology. As in diagnosis, plus the following: Head (Fig. 355): H/MxW: 1.55; H/D: 2.43, MxW/IO: 2.20, IO/MxW: 0.71. Vertex slightly emarginate, above the level of the upper border of the compound eyes. Outer cusp of lacinial tips broad, with five denticles. Mx4/Mx2: 1.28. Forewings (Fig. 353): L/W: 2.48, pterostigma: lp/wp: 3.64; areola postica, la/ha: 2.79. Hindwings (Fig. 354): l/w: 2.99. Subgenital plate (Fig. 357) as described for T. lamasi above. Gonapophyses (Fig. 358): v1 elongate, slender, acuminate, with microsetae widely distributed in the distal two thirds; v2 +3 proximally wider, with stout, long, acuminate heel; a row of three setae and two distal macrosetae on v2; distal process stout, blunt ended, with microsetae. Paraprocts (Fig. 356) broad, with a macrosetae near each sensory field, other setae as illustrated; sensory fields with 27 trichobothria on basal rosettes. Epiproct wide, anteriorly slightly concave in the middle; posteriorly rounded, slightly bulged mesally, with mesal group of three macrosetae, other setae as illustrated (Fig. 356).
