Remarks: This is the first report of this species from Lakshadweep. It is categorised under Schedule I of the Indian Wildlife (Protection) Act. C. milneedwardsi has been divided into four subspecies: (i) C. milneedwardsi clytospira (western India and Arabian Sea); (ii) C. milneedwardsi milneedwardsi (Gulf of Aden south to Natal); (iii) C. milneedwardsi lemuriensis (Réunion and Mauritius); and C. milneedwardsi eduardi (Red Sea) (Tucker & Tenorio 2013).
