Remarks: Conus parvatus was originally described as a subspecies of C. musicus Hwass in Bruguière (Walls, 1979) . Indian Ocean populations formerly identified under that name are now accepted as the distinct species C. parvatus Walls, following molecular genetic evidence (Puillandre et al. 2014, 2015, WoRMS). Prior records of C. parvatus from Lakshadweep were by Rao and Rao (1991) and KSCSTE (2013) (see also Table 1, Addendum 2).
