Tibelloides Mello-Leitão, 1939: 76–77 . Prado et al., 2022: 15–25, figs. 5a–c, 6a–f, 7a–g, 8a–g, 9a–g (reasoning for revalidation); Prado et al., 2023: 2 (formal revalidation).

Tibellus (Simon): Mello-Leitão, 1945: 224 (synonymy).

Type species. Tibelloides spatulifer Mello-Leitão, 1939 [original spelling Tibelloides spatuliferus Mello-Leitão, 1939 = junior synonym of Tibelloides punctulatus (Taczanowski, 1872)].

Composition. Tibelloides bryantae (Gertsch, 1933), Tibelloides paraguensis (Gertsch, 1933), Tibelloides punctulatus (Taczanowski, 1872), Tibelloides taquarae (Keyserling, 1891), Tibelloides castelo sp. nov. and Tibelloides juatuba sp. nov. .

Taxonomic notes. Unlike other Tibelloides, the two new species described herein share many unusual characteristics that set them apart from typical species of the genus. Tibelloides castelo sp. nov. and T. juatuba sp. nov. share body and legs very thin and elongated, with abdomen at least four times longer than wide, carapace strongly narrowed at eye region, abdomen dorsally with one longitudinal median dark band, from anterior to posterior margins (Figs 1A–C; 2A–C; 4A–C; 5A–C), male pedipalp with tenent setae not covering only the apex, but extending through almost all the prolateral face of cymbium, without retrolateral marginal conductor (RMC), and with embolus curved around the inflated rounded conductor and pointing prolaterally (Figs 1E,F; 3A,B; 4E,F; 6A,B), and female genitalia with elongated and tubular compound copulatory ducts (Figs 2E–G, 3E–G; 5E–F). Also, the CG is placed at the level of epigyne surface, while most of MS is placed deep inside the median depression of the epigyne, differing from most Tibelloides species. Despite these distinct features, we recognize that Tibelloides castelo sp. nov. and Tibelloides juatuba sp. nov. bear important diagnostic characters of the genus, such as male pedipalp with conspicuous RTA, consisting of an elongated sclerotized rod adjoined with an acute or rounded expanded lobe (VTA), CG placed over the inner margin of the anterior portion of the spermathecae and curved around the CA, compound copulatory ducts (CD) robust and with texture and sclerotization similar to the spermathecae itself, and with stalk of GH originating near the anterior border of spermathecae. These features contrast with those from Tibellus, the genus most similar to Tibelloides according to Prado et al. (2022).
