Sigara (Subsigara) cf. falleni (Fieber, 1848)

(Figs. 23, 25)

Material examined. ROMANIA: Harghita County: Sânpaul [pond], 46.1879°N 25.387°E, 482 m a.s.l., 13.viii.2023, 1 ♂ .

Remarks. The examined specimen is possibly a hybrid with an intermediate shape of the pala (Fig. 25) between typical S. falleni (triangular, Fig. 24) and S. iactans (trapezoidal, Fig. 26). Similar specimens were also recorded in the central-north European populations of S. falleni and S. iactans by Jansson (1983, Fig. 1) and Bryja & Kment (2001, Fig. 3). Havemann et al. (2018) failed to recover the two taxa as monophyletic in study using COI barcode fragments and also suggested ongoing hybridization. This record is marked with a question mark in Fig. 23.
