General distribution. From the Italian and Balkan peninsulas to eastern Europe (in the north as far as Slovakia, Poland, Ukraine and southern European territories of European Russia) and southwestern Asia (Jansson 1986, 1995; Fent et al. 2011; Protić 2016; Reduciendo Klementová et al. 2015; Protić & Nadaždin 2019). In Romania, H. parallela is known throughout the Carpathian Mountains (Fig. 13).
