General distribution. From Europe (except northernmost and southern areas) to central Siberia (Jansson 1986, 1995; Kanyukova et al. 2002, 2016; Fent et al. 2011; Grandova 2013; Protić 2016; Shapovalov et al. 2018b, 2019; Berchi et al. 2023). In Romania, this species is known only from the northeastern part of the country (Fig. 9).

Remarks. The voucher specimen(s) by Montandon (1885, 1907) were not found in Montandon’s collections held in MGAB (M. Stan, pers. comm.) and ZMHF (H. Viljanen, pers. comm.). We consider the records by Popescu-Dimitriu (1968) and CărăuȘu et al. (1967, 1972) as doubtful; the material on which these records are based is no longer known to exist.
