Hypoborus Erichson

Only Hypoborus ficus Erichson is reported in Iran (Table 1).

1.0− 1.3 mm long. Brownish. Antennal funicle 5-segmented. Antennal club oval, 4-segmented. Head not visible from above. Pronotum at posterior part wider than anterior part, covered with 6−8 disperse granules. Pronotum with white hairs, erect and light colored scales. Elytra short and cylindrical. Basal margin straight with teeth. Striae with regular row of light hairs. Interstriae with rough white hairs. Scutellum not visible. Declivity convex. Male smaller than female.

Palaearctic distribution: Azerbaijan, Austria, Azores, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Malta, Macedonia, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Russia, Switzerland, Ukraine, Serbia and Montenegro, Algeria, Canary Islands, Islands, Egypt, Morocco, Madeira Archipelago, Tunisia, Cyprus, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Turkey (Knížek 2011), Iran (Beaver et al. 2016).
