Tribe Ipini
Ipini is represented by four genera: Ips, Orthotomicus, Pityogenes and Pityokteines (Table 1).
Key to genera
1. Pronotal base armed with punctures and a longitudinal, flat callus. Female frons with either a deep fovea or flat with dense hairs. Frons of male flat with short hairs. Declivity broaden, deep or flat with 1−3 pairs of small teeth along the lateral sides. Posterior margin of elytra covering the abdominal ventrites. 1.5−3.5 mm …............................... 2. Elytra with striae posteriorly weakly widened and covered with very large punctures. Declivity with three pairs of teeth (male) or small tubercles (female). Second teeth hook-like in male, just a tubercle in female. Interstriae with only a line of small punctures. Female frons with dense and long yellow hairs.
