HOURCQIA Krömmelbein, 1965

Type species: Hourcqia africana Krömmelbein, 1965

Diagnosis: A genus presumably of Cyprididae, for the time being of still unknown subfamily attribution, with the following features: carapace in lateral outline stocky or in an extended egg-shape, biconvex in dorsal outline. Right valve larger than left valve, the left protruding on all sides by a small amount, more clearly only at the middle of the ventral margin and along the upper anterior margin, where the left valve shows a weakly concave outline and the right, on the other hand, a convex bent outline. Both valves with a very weak indistinctly outlined valve indentation in antero-dorsal position; otherwise without any coarse or fine sculpture.
