Holotype: ♂, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO (formerly Zaire, Congo Free State, Belgian Congo), “riv. Molindi, entre Kirumba-lac Kibuga, 1000m, 31.iv–2.v.1934 (Mission G.F. de Witte)” (IRSNB). Seen in IRSNB, Cabinet 41, “Parc National Albert” Box 1 during Knutson’s review of Verbeke’s material in 1978. The male specimen from L. Karago, published as a paratype by Verbeke, was found in Box 1, Cabinet 150 (genitalia not prepared) and is labelled “ Holotypus (error) kivuana Verb.,” “Coll. Mus. Congo, Ruanda: L. Karago, 21.iii.36, L. Lippens, 32,” “ Type ” “R. Det. A 5415”, J.
