Distribution. Indo-West Pacific—East Africa, Red Sea, Thailand, Hong Kong, Philippines, Japan, Australia (Western Australia, Northern Territory, Eastern Australia), New Caledonia (Banner & Banner 1973; Chace 1988). Western Atlantic—Venezuela and Brazil (Ceará, Pernambuco and São Paulo) (Pachelle et al. 2011; Almeida et al. 2012b; 2015; Lira & Vera-Caripe 2016).
Previous records. Ubatuba (Almeida et al. 2012b).
Remarks. Athanas dimorphus is a shrimp of Indo-West Pacific origin, reported for the first time from the coast of São Paulo by Almeida et al. (2012b). Here we report the collection of seven additional individuals, all of them from Ubatuba region.
