Chironomus aberratus Keyl
Chromosome set of the species is 2n = 8. Chromosomes AB, CD are metacentric, EF—submetacentric and G— telocentric. The “basic” sequences are located on the same part of the chromosome arms as that of C. piger (Fig.2). The centromere regions of the chromosomes occur as dark, large prominent bands with exception of a centromere region of chromosome G (Fig. 2). Chromosome G is very small and has one NOR and one BR. The marker of the chromosome is the two dark bands between which there are several lighter ones (Fig.2). A slightly polymorphous species (Michailova 1989). Five individuals were studied.
