Genus Puto Signoret

This genus of 47 species occurs worldwide, but mainly in the Americas and the Palaearctic Region (García Morales et al. 2016). Three Palaearctic species occur in continental Africa, all north of the Sahara; of these, P. superbus is the most widespread and polyphagous but it has not been recorded causing plant damage (García Morales et al. 2016).
