Genus Kuwania Cockerell

Kuwania oligostigma is unique in the Kuwaniidae because the adult female lacks abdominal spiracles and has a tuft of capitate (not clubbed) setae at the distal end of each tibia, and tubular ducts (absent from other species of Kuwania) (De Lotto 1959; Wu et al. 2013); see also the notes above. The species has only been collected once, in Kenya (Makueni County, Sultan Hamud), and is of no economic importance (De Lotto 1959).
