Acrocera paitana (Séguy)

Paracrocera paitana Séguy, 1956: 177 . ♀ holotype. Type deposition: unknown (not MNHN or TMNH). Type locality: “ Chine boréale, Tche-li, Paita ” [= PR China, Beijing Municipality, Yanqing County, Longqing Gorge, Paita temple, 13.VIII.1930].

Remarks. Séguy (1956) received the material from Émile Licent, founder of the Tianjin Museum of Natural History (TMNH), formerly Museum Hoang ho-Pai ho or Beijiang Museum. The type locality Longqing Gorge is situated about 80 km northwest of Beijing and 10 km north-northeast of Yanqing at approximately 116°0' 9"E 40°32'37"N. The female holotype could not be found at TMNH or in the main collection of MNHN. Acrocera paitana is closest to A. orbiculus, but a reliable differentiation from the latter based on Séguy’s (1956) diagnosis is not possible. Chances are that it also represents an additional synonym of A. orbiculus . The species is not included in Nartshuk (1988).
