(Fig. 4A, C‒H)

Remanephycis sudanella Roesler, 1989d: 309–311, figs 4–5.

Type locality: Sudan, Prov. Kassala, Erkowit, 1000–1300 m .

Material examined. 3 ♂♂: Hormozgân Province: 2 ♂♂, Bandar-e Khamir, 50 m, 26.iv.1986, Mirzâyâns, Borumand leg. (gen. prep. HA-2919, HMIM) / 1 ♂, Sirik-Jâsk Rd. (110 km after Sirik), N 26°27'2", E 57°11'54", 30 m, 12.xi.2022, Âlipanâh, Falsafi leg. (gen. prep. HA-3047, HMIM) .

Distribution. Sudan (Roesler, 1989d), Iran (new record).

Remarks. External characteristics, the male genitalia, and the eighth abdominal segment of the examined males (4C‒H) match the original description of the species by Roesler (1989d). In the dissected males, the clasper-like structures projecting above the sacculus are asymmetrical (Fig. 4C, E‒G), and sometimes have clear dents at the proximal end (Fig. 4G). Additionally, the distal spine of this structure is either pointed, as in the specimen from Sirik-Jâsk Rd. (Fig. 4F, G), or has a more or less blunt tip, as in the specimen from Bandar-e Khamir (Fig. 4C, D). Contrary to the type material, the examined specimens are collected in low altitudes (30–50 m) and not in high elevations as mentioned by Roesler (1989d) (1000–1300 m). This is the first report of the genus and species for the fauna of Iran.
