Astyanax (Astyanax) trierythropterus Godoy 1970: 276, figs. 1–4.
Holotype: EEBP 706, 22.2 mm SL(Figure 2): Brazil, S„o Paulo, Pirassununga, Mogi-Guaçu River at Emas waterfall (Figure S6–S 7), tributary of Grande River, tributary of the Paraná River, ~ 21°55′35″S, 47°22′1″W, ~ 545m asl, 15 Apr 1969.
Remarks. Godoy (1970: 275) mentioned in his methodology that the description was performed based on “(...) the type and paratypes (...)”, meaning that the name-bearing “type” is a single specimen (i.e., the holotype). However, holotype and paratypes were included in the same lot, viz. EEBP 706 (Godoy 1970). Fortunately, the holotype was placed in a small flask within the jar, along with a label that reads “ typus ” (Figure S8). In addition, the same label informs that the specimen was partially dissected (Figure 2).
