Macronotops sp.

(Figs. 41, 65, 98, 173–174, 204, 258–259)

Material examined (1♀). CHINA: Xizang: 1♀ (QCCC), Gelin, Beibeng, Mêdog County, 2,000 m, Jian-Yue QIU & Hao XU, larva in rotten wood 15.VII.2016, adult emerged V.2017 .

Distribution. China: Xizang.

Remarks. A remarkable female from Mêdog was obtained by artificial rearing, but it died in pupal cell few days before we opened the cell. The body was thus slightly decayed and the antenna and most tarsomeres were decomposed (Figs. 173–174); nevertheless, this female shows distinct differences from all other Macronotops species: the elytron bears a distal macula (Fig. 173) and protibia without the tiny tooth (Fig. 41). Thus it is considered as a new species but will not be described here because of the lack of males. Presently, four species were recorded from southeastern Xizang that reveals the high diversity of Macronotops species in the south side of the Himalayas (Fig. 259).
