Pachnoda marginata marginata (Drury, 1773)

Distribution in Guinea-Bissau (Administrative Regions): 1) BAF, BOL; 2) CAC, OIO.

Historic records:

— Bolama (BOL) (Janson 1907 sub Pachnoda marginata var. aurantia Herbst);

— Bafatá, Bambadinca (BAF) (Brivio 1958).

Material examined: Bissorã (OIO), 16.X.1983, 1 ♂, DO, A. Serrano leg., ASC ; Susana (CAC), 18.X-3.XI.1997, 1♀, CT, A. Lopes leg., ASC .

Remarks. The species is very polymorphic with eight recognized subspecies (Krajcik 2008a; Beinhundner 2017b; Schoolmeesters 2019). Some ecological and captive breeding data are available for this species (Malec 2015), but see also P. cordata remarks. Biodiversity information (abundance, habitat preference) was provided for GHA by Mudge et al. (2012) and Joly (2018) and for BEN by Touroult & Le Gall (2013). It is a new species record for CAC and OIO Administrative Regions of Guinea-Bissau.
