Diagnosis (Ionescu 1955, Rusek 1965b, Sendra et al. 2012)

Body length 2.1–3.6 mm; epicuticle with microdenticles; short, smooth clothing setae; antennae with 18–25 antennomeres; sensillum of third antennomere in ventral position (dorsal in Bulgarian specimens); short (ma, la) with a few barbs and long (lp) barbed notal macrosetae; short, with long apical barbs notal marginal setae; 1+1 la macrosetae on V–VI urotergites, 1+1 la, 1+1 lp on VII urotergite, 3+3 l p on VIII urotergite and 5+5 lp on IX abdominal segment; males without glandular a 2 -setae on the appendages; cerci (in juveniles) with long macrosetae with thin barbs.

Habitat and distribution

Soil-dwelling species distributed from the southern Carpathians to the Balkan Mountains (Rusek 1965b; Blesić 1984, 1998a, 2000b; Sendra et al. 2012).
