Type locality. Campos Basin, mouth of Rio Paraíba do Sol, State of Rio de Janeiro Brazil, 23˚12′4.250′′ S, 40˚59′41.700′′ W, in 142 m.

Material examined. None.

Comments. The species has been thoroughly described by Carrerette & Nogueira (2013), and the description is not repeated here. We have included it in the key to facilitate identification and comparison with other species. It appears to be closest to another Brazilian species, P. breviuncinatus Carrerette & Nogueira, 2013, and also P. arcticus Sars, 1865 and P. broomensis Hartmann-Schröder, 1979 .
