Discussion. Formerly, T. tinctus was recorded only from Uganda and Kenya (Kimmins 1956, 1960, Tjønneland 1960, Kluge 2010). Larvae and male subimagoes, recently collected in Zambia, have the same characters as specimens of T. tinctus from the type locality in Uganda and different from closely related species Tricorythus sp. I, Tricorythus sp. N and Tricorythus sp. S (Kluge 2010).
