Type species Guajirolus ektrapeloglossa Flowers 1985 .
Diagnosis. Dorsal side of glossa bears a regular transverse row of long, stout setae (Fig. 37). In contrast to Chane, proximal segments of maxillary and labial palps are not greatly shortened, and distal segments of the palps are not greatly elongated, without long filtering setae.
Composition. The genus Guajirolus includes 5 formally described species, among which only two species can be recognized, G. ektrapeloglossa Flowers 1985 and G. rondoni Salles 2007 (see «Discussion» under G. ektrapeloglossa).
