Phalaena (Tinea) parenthesella Linnaeus, 1761: 367, no. 1435 [type locality: Stokholm, Sweden].

New record: CHINA – [Heilongjiang] 1Ƥ, Yichun, 28 VI 1963, IZCAS.

Distribution: Japan (Moriuti 1977), Korea (Byun and Bae 2001), China (new record: Northeast), Russia (Gershenson 1997), Asia Minor, Mideast Asia and Europe.

Remark: This species is very variable in wing pattern for which many synonyms have been proposed. See Moriuti (1977) for those.
