Diagnosis. The species differs externally from its closely related Pacific Asian congeners, M. placida (Butler, 1878) and M. bani (Sugi, 1977) by the much stronger dark patch around reniform stigma; the orbicular stigma is also better visible due to its paler filling. The male genitalia are illustrated in the gen. fig. 12 and in the original description; they differ from those of the related taxa by the shape of the cucullus and the length and armature of the vesica (see also Kononenko & Han 2007).

Distribution. Taiwan, Korea. The species was known to occur only in Taiwan, these are the first records outside the island of Formosa.
