2.2.10 Sclerococcales ( Eurotiomycetes, Ascomycota)
Within the Eurotiomycetes, the discovery of an older name for the genus Dactylospora (Sclerococcum) has led to the introduction of a new subclass Sclerococcomycetidae for the order and family Sclerococcales, and Sclerococcaceae, respectively (Reblová´et al. 2017). Four apothecial marine fungi are included in this change: Sclerococcum haliotrephum, S. mangrovei, S. vrijmoediae from mangrove wood (Jones et al. 1999; Kohlmeyer and Kohlmeyer 1965; Pang et al. 2014) and S. canariense from driftwood (Kohlmeyer and Volkmann-Kohlmeyer 1998).
