Trisuloides zhangi Chen, 1994, Acta entomologica Sinica, 37(2):215, fig.1, (TL: China, Sichuan, [HT: male. IZAS, Beijing]).
Material examined. China: 1 male, βLi-kiang (China) Provintz North-Yunnan [Lijang, Yunnan Province], 5.ix.1934 H.Hone (coll. ZFMK); 5 males, Yunnan, Lijiang, Wanlong, 2300 m, 10β13.vii.2009, Han, Qi, Kononenko, genit. prep. HHL-1504-1 (coll. NEFU, IBP); 1 male, Prov. Guangdong, Nanling Mts., 2003 (coll. SCAU).
Diagnosis. Adult (Figs. 27, 28). Wingspan 42β45 mm. T. zhangi differs from other species of Trisuloides by ist smaller size, shorter forewing and absence of white or whitish elements in wing pattern. It is closest to T. rotundipennis . Forewing grayish-brown, with well expressed antemedial fascia and diffused black medial shadow; orbicular well distinct, brown, bordered with black; reniform indistinct, surrounded with brown area, paler than ground color; antemedial line distinct, twin; subterminal area suffused with grey scales, without white spots; subterminal line contrast, dentate; terminal field dark brown. Hindwing with blackish basal area, yellow central area and black terminal band. Male genitalia (Figs 52, 64) uncus, thinner than in T. rotundipennis; valva longer than in T. rotundipennis, more arched medially; harpe much larger than in T. rotundipennis, situated rather transversally, bearing very large massive conical tooth-like process, pointed apically, with series of small spines at its posterior margin and large serrate spine directed apically; a heavily setose costal flap like costal process (editum) well developed, much larger than in T. rotundipennis . Aedeagus with posterior end protruded ventrally, apically heavily sclerotised, carina without minute spines, vesica without sclerotised patch of cornuti, like in T. taiwana . Female unknown.
Distribution and biology. Occurs in south and southwest China (Sichuan, Yunnan, Guangdong provinces). Moths were collected in the vicinity of Wanlong village in July at an elevation of 2300 m, on montane plateau with elements of broad-leaved vegetation, plum and apricot gardens, surrounded by montane forest with Pinus yunnana .
