This small species from the “ haworthiata ” group was known from south eastern Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan (Tien- Shan Mts.) and the northern provinces of China (Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia). E. illaborata is a new representative of the genus for the Mongolian fauna. The single Mongolian specimen has a rusty ochreous tinge to the body and wings, and dark brown costal margins on the fore wings.
