Misidentification: Eupithecia hannemanni Vojnits & de Laever, 1973 (1♀ paratype in ZFMK).

A variable species, widely distributed from the northern Tien-Shan Mts. through north-western China, southern Siberia and Mongolia eastwards to far eastern Russia (Primorje). It was first recorded for the fauna of Mongolia by Vojnits (1974) as Catarina carissima Vojnits & de Laever, 1973. Mongolia (aimags): Bayan-Khongor, Bayan- Ulgii, Bulgan, Govi-Altai, Tuv, Uvurkhangai.
